Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and entrepreneur for more than twenty years. She is the author of fifteen books, and she is co-founder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and the owner of the independent free online news publication The Huffington Post. She emigrated out of Greece to England when she was 16 years old, and obtained a MA at Cambridge University in Economics. At 21 she became president of the renowned debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first non-native student in the history of Cambridge University to be elected. In the years following the graduation ceremony, she was a well-known Conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current politics. The fame of Arianna helped to attract several famous contributors who shared their opinions on the news as well as politics and culture. Arianna became famous in 2003 as she stood in California's recall vote, to succeed Governor Davis. Alongside this, she directed an Detroit initiative to encourage fuel efficient cars. Her name was voted as the most influential women in media by Forbes in 2009, gaining the 12th place in the list. In the same year Guardian included her in the top 100 media list. AOL, Inc. named her president of their media group in 2011 following the purchased The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included the other AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list or Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter of Konstantinos the manager's advisor as well as a journalist. They were very close to her father, but it was the relationship she had with her mother which formed her. At a young age she showed the qualities of a leader that she is still known for. When she moved to England, she was 16 to continue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. In her college years she joined the Cambridge Union debating group where she rose to become the first woman president, and also the only foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with a degree in Economics. She became a writer, a critic as well as a host on TV and columnist upon her graduation. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began to write her own books with his aid.
