Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She is the co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington, an independent liberal news site has a TV personality as well as a writer and philanthropist. Originally from Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England with her family at the age of 16. In Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. The first ever foreign-born student to be elected president in the prestigious debate club The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took over the position. Then she became an author for a conservative newspaper after graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a year following, she launched an online platform for voice which offered critiques of politics. Her fame has led to the attraction of many prominent contributors to share their views on current events, politics and culture. Arianna became famous in 2003 as she stood in California's recall vote, replacing then Governor Davis. Additionally she was the leader of the Detroit Project for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as the most influential women in the media, achieving 12th position in the list and in the same year the Guardian named her to the top 100 list of media. AOL Inc. named her president of their media division in 2011, after they bought The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included additional AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list or Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos was a daughter of Konstantinos the manager's advisor as well as journalist. Though she shared a close relationship with both of her parents but it was their connection which shaped her. Even as a young girl she displayed leadership qualities that she's still known for. At the age of 16, she moved to Britain to pursue her studies and was enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college and was the third female to serve as the president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of Master in Economics. After her graduation, she was a critic columnist and television host. In addition, she appeared alongside Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with his editing assistance.
