Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She's the co-founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global, as well being the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington has been a journalist, TV personality, philanthropist and author for more than ten years. Her role also includes being the proprietor of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. Following her move from Greece to England from Greece at the age of 16 and obtaining an MA with a major in Economics from Cambridge University. The famous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first time as president, and she held it before the age of 21. Her popularity as a conservative columnist was consolidated after she graduated. After the launch of The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online voice-portal that provided an honest assessment of the current political situation. Her celebrity status helped her to get a number of prominent contributors to post their views on politics news and culture. Arianna became famous during 2003 when she volunteered for California's recall election, to succeed Governor Davis. Alongside this, she directed a Detroit initiative to encourage the use of fuel-efficient cars. Forbes declared her to be one of the "most important female" in the media industry, placing her at 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 top media personalities in 2009. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she became president of the media company. The acquisition included a number of AOL products at the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos who was a management and journalism consultant. Though she was close to her father it was the relationship she shared with her mother that formed her entire life. Through her early times, she demonstrated the qualities of a leader for which are still prominently known. At the age of 16, she moved from the United States to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. In her college years she was a member of Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she rose to become the first female president and sole foreign president. In 1972 she received a degree in Economics. In the years following after graduation she became a critic columnist and television host. She also appeared alongside Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with his editing assistance.
